While one may think of a home as merely a piece of property, there is much more to a home than meets the eye.

Coldwell Banker Previews International® recently came out with their latest worldwide edition of Homes & Estates, a magazine that looks into the beauty of home.

Our gorgeous Haleiwa estate, Hale Komodo, graces the back cover of this prestigious magazine with its exquisite fusion of Balinesian, Hawaiian and “primitive modern” design.

Handcrafted to perfection, this home is not only a visual masterpiece on its own, it is also located on one of Hawaii’s most gorgeous coastlines, making it one of Hawaii’s most all-around desired treasures.

With a covered living area of over 9,000 square feet, this tropical gem is the epitome of ultra-luxurious living; the perfect piece of art for a magazine that is all about living big.

And while not everyone can afford a multi-million-dollar home, there are ways you can make your home the ultimate abode – one of them being through interior design.

Homes & Estates caught up with a renowned designer and antiques dealer, Richard Shapiro, to learn about his love for things from the past and why decorations are such an important part of making your home your own.

Richard explains that his passion for antiques comes from the history behind each artifact and that choosing the perfect home decoration may not be as clear cut as one may think. “Let the piece speak to you. They must emanate a special quality and exude spirituality,” Richard says.

Another artist showing his love for home is chef Curtis Stone, a popular So-Cal chef that uses places he has called home at one time or another for creating mouthwatering dishes that anyone, no matter what part of the globe they’re in, can enjoy.

He uses inspirations from Melbourne, Australia, Italy, France, Spain, London, and California to create a unique and diverse menu for his up and coming restaurant in West Hollywood that is sure to attract a whole lot of attention.

Last but not least, Italian gallery owner Roberto Casamonti gives us a peek into the world of contemporary art and his life as a gallery owner.

Roberto has definitely had a soft spot for art since he was a boy, thanks to his dad’s influence and teachings. To this day, he exemplifies everything his dad taught him – from picking out the perfect piece – to admiring and appreciating each artist’s unique style.
